Do you eat breakfast everyday?
Of all of the meals and snacks, breakfast is the most overlooked and skipped meals, yet it truly is the most important meal of the day.
Think about it…
You’ve just woken up from sleeping for (hopefully) 8 hours. The last time you ate or drank anything was probably 10+ hours ago. If you wait too long to give your body (good) fuel, hormonal triggers are set off and your body begins storing fat.
When you wake up in the morning, your body needs water and healthy fuel – ideally, within 30 minutes of waking (remember this from your Inner Athlete Awesomeness content? 😉
Here are some super simple Inner Athlete Foundations to Remember to start your day off strong:
1. Drink 8oz. of water and eat breakfast within 30 minutes of waking up.
2. If you workout in the morning, be sure you eat protein and drink water before your workout.
3. Make your breakfast packed with good protein, good fat, good carbohydrate, and fiber to rev up your metabolism and help your mind be focused and clear.
If you wait too long to eat breakfast, or start your day off with coffee alone, you’re creating a stressful situation for your brain and body. You’ll feel tired quickly, fatigued, groggy, and moody.
